Growth funding available to SMEs

In the 2013 budget, George Osborne announced the introduction of £30m worth of Growth vouchers for small businesses.

Xero direct bank feeds

Xero have recently emailed all customers who bank with RBS or NatWest to inform them that Direct bank feeds are now available. Currently they use a third party in the US, a company called Yodlee, to provide the bank import into Xero, if they have set bank feeds up from within Xero.

Direct debt payments

Following requests from clients we recently implemented a Direct Debit system to collect client fees and have already had over 60 clients opt into the system.

Zero hours contracts and exclusivity clauses

Zero hours contracts are those where the employer does not guarantee to provide the worker with any work and pays the worker only for work actually carried out. The Government estimates that some 125,000 employees are on such contracts.

PAYE messages for employers

HMRC will shortly start alerting employers where their records show that they have failed to make their PAYE or Construction Industry Scheme payments in full by their due date.
