Forensic Accounting & Litigation Support

Bringing a unique combination of accounting, auditing and investigative skills, a forensic accountant provides an accounting analysis suitable for dispute resolution. Forensic accountants are trained to look beyond the numbers and deal with the business reality of the situation. Our report will form the basis of discussion, debate and ultimately dispute resolution.

Our specialist team will accommodate requests for assistance with complex matrimonial breakdowns, tax investigations, company and partnership disputes from solicitors across the whole of the UK.

With our experience in, and understanding of business information, financial reporting and UK tax legislation, together with our knowledge of accounting and auditing standards and procedures, we will analyse, interpret, summarise and comment on financial and business issues.

We will communicate financial information clearly and concisely, and we regularly provide expert evidence.

Typically, our role encompasses providing business valuations, expert witness forensic accounting reports, tracing potential hidden assets in matrimonial disputes, unravelling the tax affairs of business owners currently under enquiry by HMRC, and assisting where cases of fraud have been identified.

The team can deal with cases at short notice if required. We are happy to discuss matters in conference or by telephone and also to provide a brief overview of financial matters relating to a case to assist legal advisors.

We recognise the need to be flexible at all times and are prepared to meet our clients at their premises and at times suitable to them.

Our reports are personally prepared by either Alf Pare or Ruth Chapman, both of whom are qualified accountants and qualified tax practitioners. They have considerable expertise in advising SME businesses. Alf has wide experience of appearing at Court as an expert witness; some of his cases having been reported in the press and Family Law Reports. Ruth has a great deal of experience of defending clients placed under scrutiny by HMRC looking at their tax affairs, as well as identifying cases of tax fraud, and assisting with voluntary disclosures, having previously worked within specialist teams at Deloitte and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
