The unveiling of the new Prime breakout area

This month saw the opening of the new breakout area in our Coventry office. The project first commenced late last year with a reorganisation of the second floor of our open plan office and in early march the transformation really began.

The breakout area, which can be found in the above photos, features a much improved and larger kitchen area, a number of tables and chairs, several large sofas and a television.

The purpose built area provides staff with the opportunity to escape from their desk during their breaks and provides a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a bite to eat, a catch up with colleagues or as a space to host informal internal meetings.

Senior managers, Kerrie Lucas and Steven Harcourt have been heavily involved in the vision and creation of the area and have made the following comments.

“We identified a need for an area in the Coventry office where team members could go at lunch time to get away from their desks and eat their lunches with colleagues. We worked out that having a breakout area in the office would mean that staff could relax and unwind away from their desks and any distractions in an open plan office would be minimised.”

“Although the initial design for the area changed through the process, the original concept has stayed throughout and has already been embraced by the team. We hope the space will continue to promote productivity, increase creativity and add to the social factor of the office.”
