Super Wednesday - A busy evening cooking and quizzing

The Prime team were out in force on 22 April showing off their knowledge and culinary skills.

We sent a team of six to the Solihull Chamber Quiz in aid of Family Care Trust. Kevin, Jamie, Frances, Laura, Bonnie and Arvin performed well and managed to answer enough questions to finish 4th.

Laurence, Jonathan. Morgan and Glen, who went by the team name “In Our Prime” also managed a respectable 6th place out of 17, in support of Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Help Harry Help Others and Children in Need.

Morgan managed to win the individual prize for the “cleverest person in the room” by beating everybody else in the True and False round, although judging by his performance in the rest of the quiz his teammates dubbed him the “luckiest person in the room” especially as he won a driving experience in the raffle as well. Not to be outdone, Jonathan also won a prize in the raffle.

The team had a great evening and want to thank Lloyds for hosting this fun quiz and congratulate them in raising over £2,000 for the three charities.

Finally, the Forensic team hosted a Cook and Dine evening at Becketts Farm, with a mix of guests. The would be chefs were split into the starters, main course and dessert teams. Aided by Chef’s from the Orange Kitchen at Becketts Farm all three courses were cooked from scratch and then served and marked.

The winning team was Team Nick who made the deserts of sticky toffee pudding, chocolate brownie and treacle honeycomb. The whole evening was great fun and rewarding, and all agreed the food was excellent (well we would having cooked it ourselves!).
