Being honest, approachable and organised are among the top attributes that employees believe make up the ideal boss. Research published by workplace incentives and rewards provider, One4all Rewards polled 1,024 UK employees on the qualities they would value the most in a leader.
Very few of us can point to aspects of our upbringing to make us directors and mentors but honesty and sincerity, another required quality, are the basics of a good upbringing. There are plenty of training courses which can help with being a good organiser and the rest is learning on the job.
From someone who has been in a leading role for some years, I believe that positive working relationships result from being inspirational, working together towards one goal and taking time to listen.
