Prime's fundraising for Birmingham Children's Hospital
Here at Prime Accountants Group we support a nominated charity for a two year period, for 2015/16 our chosen charity has been Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.
As the year draws to a close we reflect on what has been a very busy, but overwhelming successful year of fundraising where we have raised over £18,000 for the hospital. In order to collate donations we set up a JustGiving page and out of the 532,124 pages that were set up in 2015 our page was in the top 1% in terms of amount received.
The majority of the funds were donations towards our 3PS challenge, which saw the Prime team cycle to and walk up Snowdon, Scarfel Pike and Ben Nevis as well as rowing Lake Bala, Windermere and Loch Ness on route. The staff at Prime also received personal donations that were included in the total. A massive challenge that took place over three separate weekends and included over 40 people.
Managing Director Kevin Johns said “Although the whole challenge was tough and harder than most people expected, the combination of the different activities made it inclusive so that a large majority of the firm was involved”
“There are additional benefits to fundraising events such as this, in regards to the team building element, the team pulled together at various points to encourage each other over the theoretical finish line, which as a director of the business, makes you proud to see”.
We would not have been able to raise this amount if it wasn’t for the generous donations of our clients, professional contacts, friends and family so from everyone at Prime we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our supporters once again.
The charity has also been very supportive and assisted with different ideas throughout the year. Corporate Partnerships Consultant, Laura Richards said
“We want to say a massive thank you to all at Prime Accountants for making this first year of fundraising so successful."
“The team’s passion, enthusiasm and determination has seen them take on a mix of arduous challenges as well as creative tasks and the resulting fundraising total has been fantastic."
“The money raised will help make a huge difference to the lives of our brave children and their families as we continue our plans to improve our facilities – enabling us to treat even more children from Birmingham, the West Midlands and around the country.”
We are also pleased to have supported the hospital in a variety of different ways, not just fundraising, we have sent two teams to go and take part in “ArtKart” volunteering scheme that offers patients and families the opportunity to take part in fun and creative activities while they are waiting in the outpatients area of the hospital.
For Christmas we volunteered to decorate a ward at the Hospital. The theme for this year was Frozen/Winter Wonderland and we had been allocated a reasonably large part of the Renal ward to decorate with all manor of Christmas decorations.
We look forward to continuing our support for the hospital in 2016 and already have more exciting fundraising activity lined up for the year ahead.
