Prime concludes support of Birmingham Children's Hospital
Prime Accountants Group is delighted to reveal we have raised an incredible £25,000 in two years of activities and events to help support Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.
The team have supported the hospital in a variety of different ways, from walking up a mountain, to baking a cake or rowing a lake.
As individuals, raising an amount close to this would be near impossible, but our collective efforts and team spirit continue to impress and enthuse those who hear about our efforts and more importantly they contribute in making a difference.
Our commitment to the hospital has seen us take part in many physical challenges raising much needed funds for the hospital, but just as rewarding was the opportunity to donate time by volunteering in the various activities the hospital has available including “Ward decs” and “Art Kart”.
Staff also wrapped the Prime office in giant bandages to support the hospital’s Big Bandage day.
Our biggest challenge, however, was the ‘3Ps’ Challenge, which followed the theme of pedal, paddle and peaks, and saw the team climb the three mountains of Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis, cycling to each mountain from the office in Solihull or Coventry, racking up more than 950 miles in the saddle. The final element to the challenge was to row the length of Lake Bala, Windermere and Loch Ness. The 3Ps Challenge raised more than £18,000 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.
Kevin Johns, Prime Managing Director, explained how the company takes seriously its role in the wider community.
“Prime Accountants Group has been involved in a number of fundraising and charity projects throughout recent years,” said Kevin.
“We recognise that, as a local business, we have a responsibility to benefit society at large. For the last two years Prime’s nominated charity has been Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity and we are delighted to have raised £25,000 which we hope will make a significant difference to the hospital and the young children they care for."
“Without the collective effort and support of our staff, clients and professional network, raising this amount wouldn’t have been possible. I would like to say once again thank you to everyone that has been involved over the past two years.”
Elinor Eustace, Deputy Director of Fundraising at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “We are absolutely blown away by Prime Accountants Group’s final fundraising total and would like to say a massive thank you to the team for tackling such a tremendous challenge as the 3Ps and raising an incredible amount for our hospital.
“The money they’ve donated will go a long way to making a huge difference to the lives of our brave children and their families as we continue our plans to improve our facilities – enabling us to treat even more children from Birmingham, the West Midlands and around the country.”
The end of this year will also see the end of our support for the hospital. The team here at Prime have really taken the hospital into our hearts and have passionately fundraised for the children for the last two years. In return the hospital has provided us with some uplifting moments and the interaction with the children has justified every activity we have undertaken. The opportunity to donate time as well as money has been truly rewarding and the children we have met along the way are amazing. Our challenges pale in significance to the challenges the children are fighting in the hospital and we are extremely proud that by pulling together as a team we have contributed in bettering the lives and families of those under the care of the hospital.
