Here at Prime Accountants Group we nominate charities to support for a two year period, for 2017/2018 our charities are Zoe’s Place and SoLO.

Commonwealth Chamber

Developing trade links with Commonwealth countries has never been more important as the UK prepares to leave the European Union. Which is why in January 2018, Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, of which Solihull Chamber is a part, will launch a new sister organisation to Solihull, which will build on all of the great international activity the Chamber does at present.

A happy workplace

The average Brit will spend around 81,000 hours, or the equivalent of a full nine years of their lives in the workplace, so it’s sad to think that some people hate their jobs. Office experts at have compiled a list of ten things every manager should consider, to help their teams become happy teams.

A budget announcement about business rates reforms last week was particularly good news for retailers in Solihull. Chancellor Phillip Hammond revealed plans to bring forward a cut in business rate rises by two years to 2018.

We are currently surveying Chamber of Commerce members for our latest Quarterly Business Report. This survey provides a very good indication of business movement and the West Midlands economy. The results are likely to indicate whether firms in the region are still showing solid levels of growth despite concerns around higher prices, exchange rate variations and Brexit.
