Prime Chartered Accountants, who are based in Solihull town centre, are pleased to present Maria Moore with the award on account of her great achievements secured amidst strong adversity. Throughout all three stages of her AAT course, Maria who is from Hall Green, remained an excellent student and passed all exams at her first attempt despite a series of personal problems in her private life.
During her final level of study, Maria not only suffered a personal tragedy but also became severely ill and was unable to attend college to take her external exams. Undeterred and resolute in her determination to gain her AAT qualification, however, Maria continued to study throughout and sat her final examinations at home with the college providing an invigilator.
Now a full member of the Association of Accounting Technicians Maria is extremely pleased to receive this award. She comments: "I'm thrilled to be receiving this award and would like to thank everyone at Raftery and Co."
Roger Edmonds concludes: "This award is rather special because it is not granted just on intellectual ability but also on personal character; two areas which are equally important in the demanding environment of business. Maria was chosen because not only is she gifted, she has also demonstrated a superb strength of character.
He concludes: "Maria is a deserved winner and we are very proud to sponsor this award through the college."
