Accountants Primed for new IT arm going live

A new IT venture from a West Midlands firm of accounts has gone live, enabling local businesses to get help with their technology as well as their tax returns.

Prime Chartered Accountants believes Prime Technology will help small and medium sized enterprises with practical solutions to their IT issues.

The firm has a strong track record in not just providing accountancy services but also acting as all round business advisers to their clients.  Chairman Laurence Moore feels this latest innovation is simply an acknowledgement of what they have been doing for several years already.

"We have always seen ourselves as a business which offers a full range of services rather than just a firm of accountants," said Laurence.

"Through the work that we do, we have experience of dealing with a wide variety of IT systems, both our own and our clients', and have in-house experts on hand to help businesses when they need it.  Using our own experience, we give practical systems advice when helping with IT rather than just curing the immediate problem.

"Launching Prime Technology is simply a more formal extension of what we have already been doing and will enable us to offer the services to other businesses, not just our existing clients.

"It means that a company can come to us as a single provider for a variety of business services, including the IT systems that these days are a basic requirement for running a business effectively.

"While on the face of it some might think that IT services do not naturally sit next to accountancy services, in this day and age most of the accounts functions are electronic and so we have a depth of expertise in that aream as well as being extensive users of IT ourselves.

"We have found that some clients prefer to come to us with IT issues rather than use a traditional third party IT provider who may not have the in-depth business knowledge to suggest practical, cost effective improvements with their unique enterprise in mind."

Prime Technology can offer a full support function or simply deputise if an in-house IT manager is out of the office, delivering a cost effective service tailored to the individual firm's needs.

This can include remote access, enabling experienced IT professionals to respond immediately to a crisis or simply carry out routine maintenance from wherever they are.  It also enables accountants to logon remotely to answer quickly and accurately questions arising from the use of a multitude of accounting systems.

It will also carry out a free initial assessment for customers to build a picture of existing networks and how these might best be optimised and managed.  And it can arrange everything from anti-virus software, supplied by Trend Micro, and security checks, to broadband access and remote log-ins.
