Payroll Questions Answered

back to Payroll

What does a payroll bureau do?

At Paysolve we arrange the payment of wages or salaries to a company's employees, which includes the calculation, and deduction of tax and National Insurance contributions. Taking information from the company, we produce payslips and make payments either directly (using BACS) or return a detailed schedule of payments to be made (by cash or cheque).

As well as these standard services we also produce annual returns for the Inland Revenue and other statutory bodies, to ensure our clients meet their legal responsibilities.

Why should we consider outsourcing our payroll?

For most companies, payroll is not a core competency. By outsourcing your payroll function to Paysolve you can lift the administrative burden, increase reliability and save time and money.
As a certified BACS bureau we can also arrange payment direct to your employees bank accounts, with no need for you to write cheques or handle cash payments.

When can we outsource our payroll?

You can outsource at any time and the process couldn’t be simpler. See Getting Started with Paysolve for more details.

Who would deal with our payroll?

Paysolve is the payroll arm of Chartered Accountants Prime Chartered Accountants. Paysolve is staffed by a dedicated team of payroll experts. Each client is allocated a single point of contact in the team for day-to-day enquiries but, ultimately, all clients are overseen by one of the Prime Chartered Accountants partners. Our offices are in Coventry, in the West Midlands, where all staff are based.

Can you guarantee accurate and timely payroll?

We understand how important payroll is to your business. It needs to be on time every time to maintain the trust and productivity of your employees. This is why we have invested in the latest hardware and software and spread it across many sites, allowing us to deal with potentially any situation. Following our agreed schedules we guarantee that your all important tax year end data will be filed by the deadline.

I only have a few employees - should I outsource my payroll?

The outsourcing of payroll is appropriate for most companies no matter the number of employees. All companies - both large and small, have a responsibility to comply with the latest Government rules and regulations. In the case of a small business you may not have the appropriate resources or skill levels to deal effectively and efficiently with payroll and all that this entails. Furthermore, by outsourcing the payroll function, you can ensure that your staff are paid accurately and on time.

How is the cost of using Paysolve to handle payroll calculated?

We charge on a per payslip basis with differing scales of charges based on the number of employees and frequency at which they are paid (weekly, monthly etc). The charge will also differ depending on whether you wish to use our secure BACS payment facilities or prefer to administer cheque payments yourselves. Depending on your requirements, we can also incorporate a charge for preparing year-end returns for NI and PAYE as well as P11D’s, P45’s, P60’s, and P35’s.
