Alf was born in 1944 and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1967. He also became a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in 1969. He joined the firm in 1969, became a partner in 1974 and was senior partner of Pilley & Florsham from 1989 - 2006 when he stepped down to spend more time with his family.
Alf remains a consultant with the firm and still provides invaluable advice to clients and continues to work in the specialist area of forensic accountancy.
Alf has undertaken forensic accountancy work since 1987 in a variety of matters related to financial issues including matrimonial disputes, personal injury cases, professional negligence, Companies Act matter and loss of profits. He undertakes approximately 60 cases a year and regularly appears in Court to give evidence. Alf is a member of The Academy of Experts and also The Society of Expert Witnesses.
Alf is available to give lectures and talks to groups of family solicitors. He has a number of talks available including: Understanding Business Accounts, Good Instructions Bring Good Results, Tax issues in Family Cases and When to Call in an Accountant.
